Tens of thousands of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299 members struck across the UC system Nov. 17 and 18. With the rhythm of drums matching the rain, hundreds of UC employees striking at UCLA impacted medical facilities and custodial services and left many UCLA dining halls temporarily closed.

At times, I question whether I can really call myself a journalist.

I have grown amused observing people’s reactions when I tell them that I’m a public affairs student on the pre-med track.
