About the Daily Bruin Editorial Board

Mission Statement

The Daily Bruin Editorial Board offers the consolidated opinions of veteran members of the Bruin on topics relevant to UCLA. The Board generally publishes one to two editorials every week throughout the year.

Editorials are intended to serve as the jumping point, and not the conclusion, to discussion.

The board meets to discuss issues on campus and within the larger University of California system. Editorial positions are determined by majority vote and unsigned editorials represent the majority opinion of the board. The board operates separately from the newsroom.

The board stands behind the preservation of the University of California’s academic mission and believes that administration, at all levels, should be held accountable to students, faculty and staff. This includes, but is not limited to, state and county legislators, UC and UCLA administrators and elected student officers.

The members of the board believe an independent and accessible student press is critical to ensuring a well-informed student population. 

As part of the Daily Bruin’s commitment to its readers, the board hopes to present a responsible and clear analysis of relevant events and news items affecting the lives of those we serve. We encourage all readers to reach out to our board members and to respond to our editorials.

The Board

Alexandra Crosnoe is the 2026-27 editor in chief, sitting on the board ex officio. She was previously the 2025-26 News editor and the 2024-25 national news and higher education editor. Crosnoe is a fourth-year public affairs student.

Sara Green is the 2026-27 Opinion editor. She was previously a 2025-26 assistant Opinion editor and a 2024-25 Opinion columnist. Green is a fourth-year English and public affairs student.

Lilly Leonhardt is a 2026-27 assistant Opinion editor. She was previously 2025-26 Opinion staff and a 2024-25 Opinion columnist. Leonhardt is a third-year political science and public affairs student.

Nick Levie is a 2026-27 assistant Opinion editor. He was previously a 2025-26 Opinion columnist. Levie is a fourth-year political science and public affairs student.

Angelina Alkhouri is Opinion staff. She is a fourth-year human biology and society student.

Ruby Galbraith is an Opinion columnist and Photo staff. She is a third-year human biology and society and public affairs student.

Anna Gu is Quad staff and a News contributor. She was previously the 2025-26 Quad editor. Gu is a fourth-year political science student.

Alessandra Kahn is Opinion staff. Kahn is a third-year linguistics student.

Makenna Kramer is Opinion staff. She was previously a 2025-26 assistant Opinion editor and a 2024-25 Opinion columnist. Kramer is a fourth-year history and public affairs student

Megan Vahdat is the 2026-27 Podcasts editor and a News, Photo and Video contributor. She was previously the 2025-26 Podcasts editor and a 2023-25 Podcasts staff member. Vahdat is a fourth-year English student.
