This is attempt number two at writing my -30- column. The other one I wrote was pretty out there and pretty “unique.” I say that with quotation marks because I’ve realized some of the motivations behind why I wanted to write something so revolutionary (sarc) (and I’ve decided to include my sarcastic remarks on the page with a “(sarc)” like some people do (but not AP, sorry Copy) when there are grammatical errors in a quote), and the results are kind of interesting.
These Bruins have blossomed into plant parents during quarantine. UCLA students discuss the plants in their lives, how they first got started with planting, tips for future plant owners and the importance of plants on their mental health.
The 2020 election was the first time voting in a presidential election for many college students. Bruins share their experiences with voting, while voicing their opinions on the current state of the United States and their hopes for the future under a new administration.
As borders closed and travel was restricted, international students had a decision to make. Earlier spring quarter, we took a look at how students from abroad have adjusted to the quarantine.
Since we cannot say goodbye in person, the next option is to bring old memories back in a video conference with our seniors. Graduating Daily Bruin members have the opportunity to write a -30- column at the end of their journey in the newsroom as a small remembrance of memories made through the Daily Bruin.
