Russell Westbrook jumped to his feet, nodding his head emphatically and cheering loudly. It wasn’t an NBA matchup or an All-Star contest, but rather a UCLA men’s basketball game.

The 34th annual Vietnamese Culture Night occurred on Monday, January 20 at Royce Hall. The themes of the night portrayed issues of social and mental disorders and their relevance to the Vietnamese society.

The UCLA gymnastics team opened conference competition with a win against the Oregon State Beavers. The Beavers defeated the Bruins last season for the Pac-12 title.
