If you think about it, it’s a bit weird that almost all of the buildings on UCLA’s campus are given people’s last names. Geffen, Luskin, Broad, Powell – UCLA students utter these names with familiarity on a regular basis, although we associate the names with a building or a professional school rather than the individuals themselves.
From latte art videos on Facebook to not-so-witty quotes on T-shirts, coffee is an indisputable aspect of our everyday lives. Every frappy hour is national news, and liking the taste of coffee is viewed as a mark of adulthood.
Because it’s a common gripe for UCLA students to complain about their professors, it’s easy to forget how distinguished our faculty actually is. Many are on the forefront of their respective fields and make valuable contributions that impact the world as we know it.
