Preliminary results for the North Westwood Neighborhood Council’s biennial election were released Wednesday by the Los Angeles City Clerk’s office.
The election was held May 4 in Ackerman Union’s Bruin Viewpoint Room, as the NWWNC represents UCLA’s campus and Westwood Village to the LA City Council. The results will be confirmed next week after the challenge period ends.

Twenty candidates – 10 of them incumbents – ran for 19 seats, with only the worker stakeholder seat contested. The graduate student member position was the only one without a candidate.
The number of votes cast this year was barely more than half of the 2021 election votes for most seats, according to the 2021 and 2023 preliminary election results. Voter turnout has steadily declined since the council’s inception, dropping from 851 votes in its first interim election to 106 this past cycle.
