Ninth-ranked UCLA women’s soccer didn’t make many mistakes, and for the most part the growing back line held its own, keeping opportunities away from the eighth-ranked University of North Carolina to score on the run.

In Adam Krikorian’s eyes, Sunday’s Russian team played with edge and confidence. This came as a surprise to the former Bruin and current U.S. women’s national water polo coach, considering the news released hours before match time.

The Bruins struggled at the beginning of the season, unable to find consistency as they navigated one of the hardest nonconference schedules. But UCLA softball found a lot of success once Pac-12 play started.

No. 2 seed hopeful
UCLA is expecting both the men’s and women’s tennis teams to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament when the selection committee announces the draw Tuesday.

Many UCLA players fell further down the draft boards than expected, but the 2016 draft was ultimately one of the biggest for the Bruins in history.

This year’s NFL draft could be a busy one for UCLA, with the possibility that up to nine Bruin football players will be taken over the course of the three-day event.

Madeline Jelenicki had a solid freshman season. Named All-Pac-12 Freshman for the 2015 season, the 5-foot-9-inch utility/catcher made an immediate impact on UCLA Softball.
She hit .282 with nine home runs and was fourth in RBIs on the team with 47.

Thirty under 30
