The UCLA Blood & Platelet Center is rallying community members in a race against time, with its Big Ten blood donation competition set to conclude Dec.

Thousands of students gathered in Westwood Village on Oct. 3 for “Westwood Wander,” the latest installment of UCLA First Thursdays.
The evening opened at Broxton Plaza: a newly pedestrianized area that was turned into an interactive center with games, picture opportunities and the distribution of limited-edition First Thursdays T-shirts.

The UCLA Department of History has received a gift of $25 million from two alumni.
The Department of External Affairs announced July 16 that UCLA alumni Meyer and Renee Luskin donated the gift to the history department, with the couple saying their goal is to expand opportunities for students and for them to engage with history and build greater public appreciation for historical understanding.

The UCLA community celebrated Los Angeles culture Thursday at April’s First Thursdays block party.
Roller skating, skate performances, a live mural painting and food trucks were featured on Broxton Avenue for “LA Vibes,” drawing in more than 2,200 attendees, said Eddie North-Hager, interim executive director of UCLA Media.

With nearly a thousand Bruins and community members in attendance, March’s First Thursdays event livened up Broxton Avenue and Westwood Village with sports, art installations and food.

Hundreds of Bruins and Angelenos gathered on Broxton Avenue with their loved ones last Saturday for the Broxton Nights Sweetheart Market.
On the second Saturday of every month, Broxton Avenue is closed to traffic and transformed into a night market for the community.
