Upon the Bruins United slate’s arrival at Meyerhoff Park, those already awaiting election results chanted ‘’B, U, be better.’’

Candidates and supporters gathered in Meyerhoff Park today starting around 4:30 p.m. to hear the election results for this year’s USAC election.

Justin Jackson, who was disqualified from running for internal vice president, watches the election announced from a Kerckhoff window with a fan and pillow.

Bruins United candidate Bella Martin was elected as general representative 2. After the announcement, Martin quickly hugged and cheered with her team.

Robert Blake Watson ran independently and won the internal vice president position. ‘'I want (the office) to be for students because that’s what the position was designed for. ... For students, to interact with administration and to work with student organizations,’’ Watson said.

Independent candidate Ayesha Haleem gets lifted into the air as she wins the general representative 1 position. ''(I now hope to get my) inclusive and accessible platforms working as soon as possible,'' she said.
Independent candidate Alley Madison ran uncontested for the Campus Events commissioner. Madison said she has plans to focus on issues that are inevitably political in her position, which usually does not take a political stance.

Independent candidate Jamie Kennerk embraces campaign staff after winning the external vice president position. ''I think we will have a good council next year. USAC has a reputation of being toxic but I am confident that next year’s council will not be that way,'' Kennerk said.
Ashraf Beshay, an independent candidate, did not win the the USAC presidency. ''I’m hopeful all the candidates will be working for their communities,'' Beshay said.
Claire Fieldman hugs and thanks her friends and team for helping her during the campaigning process. ''I have been thinking about this day for a really long time and to have it be a reality and to have the student body make the selection that they did is the biggest honor of my life,'' Fieldman said.
Many students came out to the results announcement to support their candidates.
