Pauley Pavilion’s court will be fully refurbished by October’s end, said UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero in a statement Friday afternoon. The announcement confirms that the UCLA men’s basketball and women’s basketball teams will each play its entire regular season in Pauley Pavilion.

Workers are expected finish replacing a water pipe Friday night that broke and caused flooding at UCLA Tuesday, after removing the damaged portion of the pipe from the ground this morning, officials said.

UCLA officials said the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is appearing to claim financial responsibility for the damage done by Tuesday’s water main break, while workers continue to pump water out of Parking Structures 4 and 7.

Two Los Angeles city councilmembers are demanding that the L.A. Department of Water and Power report the cause of the water main break that flooded campus Tuesday and possible infrastructure problems that led to the break, in a motion released Wednesday evening.

Officials said about 20 million gallons of water leaked from a water main on Sunset Boulevard during Tuesday’s flood, instead of the eight to 10 million previously estimated.
