The Echo and EchoPlex hosted the first-ever Fuego Fest on Saturday, a music festival inviting Latin bands and vendors promoting activism against increasing immigration enforcement. Los Angeles city councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez awarded the festival with a Certificate of Recognition.

UCLA’s new Latinx Success Center aims to support the university’s Latino community.
The center, located in De Neve Birch, was established following a 2022 recommendation from UCLA’s Hispanic-Serving Institution Task Force.
UCLA’s Latine Film and Theatre Association hosted its annual Night of Cultura showcase April 18 and 19, presenting student-produced plays and films. The LFTA was founded in 2004 and has continued to produce plays and films highlighting Latinx culture.
Through the lens of immigration, the theater production “Just Like Us” highlights the coming-of-age stories of four Latina girls in Denver.
This rendition of a true story is running until May 18 under the Latino Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.
