The UCLA women’s tennis team proved its worthiness of a No. 1 ranking Thursday, handily defeating Loyola Marymount University 7-0.
The Bruins’ momentum stemmed from a dominating season-opening performance last weekend and they were able to maintain their perfect record.

The UCLA women’s tennis team sent players to different venues this weekend to play in preparatory tournaments for the upcoming season, and produced strong showings at both competitions.

The UCLA women’s tennis team will split into two groups this weekend to play in two separate tournaments, with one purpose in mind: divide and conquer.

Like most other UCLA students, the players on UCLA’s women’s tennis team were able to go home over the past two weeks to enjoy the holiday season and take a break from classes.

The UCLA women’s tennis team doesn’t compete in its first official team match until January, but that’s not stopping some players from representing the blue and gold in tournament play this fall.

Although four UCLA women’s tennis players competed in the Jack Kramer Invitational this weekend in Rolling Hills Estates, none were crowned champion. While all the Bruins took advantage of the preseason tournament to improve their individual games, no player advanced past the semifinals.
