After a convincing sweep of Mississippi State, completed with a 8-0 win Tuesday night, the UCLA baseball team captured its first-ever NCAA title and the school’s 109th overall.

In the midst of its current school-record nine straight postseason wins, UCLA continues to stress that it is playing its style of baseball – Bruin baseball.

With a 3-1 win Monday night over Mississippi State, UCLA baseball won its first-ever game in the championship series of the College World Series. The Bruins’ win puts them one away from winning the program’s first-ever baseball title.

UCLA continued its stay on the easy path by again doing things the hard way. The Bruins are now one win away from advancing to the national championship series of the College World Series for the first time since 2010.

With another 2-1 victory, UCLA baseball’s second in as many games, the Bruins are now just one win away from advancing to the championship series of the College World Series.

This year’s College World Series features four teams with 50 or more wins on the season and three of the top four national seeds. UCLA baseball does not carry with it any of those accolades, but hopes experience and defensive skill will carry them to first national title in program history.
