With consecutive UCLA successes against Redlands, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Whittier, the Inland Empire Classic represented a final opportunity for the Bruins to grow before important games against stronger opponents in the Bay Area next week.

For UCLA swim and dive, this was it – a three-day culmination of the entire season that only seven swimmers and one diver earned the right to experience.

For most divers, the season has already drawn to a close, but for a few Bruins, this weekend’s NCAA Zone E Championships will offer a final opportunity to qualify for nationals.

The swim season may be winding down but excitement is only bubbling up.

For swim and dive, healthy eating, frequent hand-washing and 10 p.m. bedtimes have all been on the mind since competing against Stanford and Cal.

Both Stanford and Cal may have sunk the UCLA swim and dive team this past weekend, but the Bruins’ confidence and strong performance kept team spirit afloat.
