match against Oregon in the third game.

of St. Louis, where lightning threatened to lance the lacrosse
fields and tornado sirens forced team members from their hotel
rooms, the UCLA women’s lacrosse team embraced the unfamiliar
at the Women’s Division Intercollegiate Associates
Championship.

UCLA men’s volleyball team completely blocked out its
surroundings, forgetting that it stood in the midst of the heckling
crowd at USC’s Lyon Center and that the band was blaring the
Trojan fight song.
IRVINE “”mdash; UCLA’s win against UC Irvine on Friday
night proved that the Bruins weren’t allowing anyone to get
past them a third time.
Though surrounded by Anteater support in Crawford Hall, the
Bruins only fed off the crowd’s enthusiasm, avenging their
earlier losses against the Anteaters with a 3-1 victory.
This week, to the Bruins’ dismay, has been full of
surprises.
Wednesday’s unexpected loss against Lewis, coupled with
the possibility of sophomore setter Jimmy Sepulveda quitting the
team mid-season, signified a halt to UCLA’s improvement in
conference play.
After a season full of narrow defeats, the UCLA swimming and
diving team will take another shot at redemption.
The squad has shown consistent improvement in speed and
technique over the last few meets, but will look to translate that
into victories this weekend at the Pac-10 Championships in Federal
Way, Washington.
