As practice ended on Thursday, the coaches left Yates Gymnasium, but a few gymnasts remained and continued to practice by themselves. Sophomore Samantha Peszek worked on the bars while fellow sophomore Olivia Courtney stayed on the floor and finished stretching.

After a narrow victory last week over Utah, the UCLA women’s gymnastics team left no doubt in its No. 1-ranking while on a road trip over the long weekend, putting down California with ease.

This weekend, the No. 20 Oregon Ducks proved that while they might have been lucky, they were definitely not chicken, showing guts and courage as they took down the top-ranked Bruins in five sets.
