The road to the Sunset Strip is a long and tough one for many
intrepid bands from across the country trying to hit it big in
Tinseltown.

The University Campus Choir has been practicing in Schoenberg
hall for years; however, it is not technically a campus group.
The group, which consists of a nearly 40 singers from the UCLA
community, is gearing up for its 25th anniversary concert on June
25 at St.

Santa Barbara transplant Ross Flournoy cautiously maneuvers his
way down Wilshire Boulevard’s rush hour traffic in true Los
Angeles fashion: on a cell phone. However, the band he fronts, The
Brokedown, defies many typical L.A.

For one western band, inspiration comes from across the
ocean.
Voxtrot, hailing from Austin, Texas, will bring its catchy brand
of smooth, jangly indie pop to a Campus Events concert at The
Cooperage on March 13.

For guitarist Payam Larijani, Bach is the new Pearl Jam.
Larijani, a UCLA alumnus, will play a free classic guitar
concert at 4 p.m. today in the Powell Library as part of Powell
Music Concerts in the Rotunda.
