Now that I’m graduating, I’m starting to wonder more
and more what my degree is worth.
Graduation is supposed to be one of the proudest moments of your
life, a crowning achievement of education and dedication to
learning.

When the Daily Bruin sent me out to Oklahoma City to cover the
Women’s College World Series two weeks ago, there was one
major problem. Calgary was hosting the Stanley Cup Finals, not the
rodeo, so I couldn’t get the game on TV.

regional game, the immediate Women’s College World Series
storyline was about how open the tournament would be.

to make history by winning three games on Sunday to advance to the
championship game of the Women’s College World Series.

OKLAHOMA CITY “”mdash; Over the weekend, a few inches on a line
drive, a misplayed grounder or a throw over the fielder’s
head could end a team’s season.

OKLAHOMA CITY “”mdash; For the second year in a row, UCLA pitcher
Keira Goerl took her team to the NCAA Championship.
Unlike the top pitchers on most teams in the Women’s
College World Series, Goerl has been asked to pitch in every game
for UCLA over the past two years.

OKLAHOMA CITY “”mdash; Sue Enquist had a feeling. And
that’s really all that mattered.
The lack of experience didn’t matter. The magnitude of the
situation didn’t matter.

looking to repeat, you think of a club full of seniors making one
last title run.

For the seventh-seeded Stanford Cardinal, today’s game
against UCLA may seem a little odd. The two California schools are
flying to Oklahoma City for the first round of the Women’s
College World Series.
