The fourth-annual Update on Sexual Orientation Law and Public
Policy is taking place today at the UCLA School of Law.
Three panels of speakers will address issues pertaining to legal
protections for same-sex couples.

Preparations for the Spring Moot Court Competition oral
arguments, which will take place on Feb. 19, are currently underway
at the UCLA School of Law.
Forty-seven students are participating in the competition, which
simulates an appellate court.

Several organizations on campus and in the surrounding community
are staging events to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.

In early 2003, violence between non-Arab rebel groups and
government-supported Arab militias broke out in the Darfur region
of Sudan. The conflict has left tens of thousands of people dead,
more than 1.5 million displaced and 200,000 seeking refuge in the
neighboring country of Chad.
