A case that was originally filed with the Undergraduate Students
Association Judicial Board with the hopes of overturning the
results of last Thursday’s undergraduate student government
elections will be retracted before it is ever heard by the Judicial
Board.
Bruins United candidates will not be able to campaign for the
majority of the day today, the last day of the Undergraduate
Students Association Council’s runoff election, because of
sanctions from the Elections Board.
Though some of the candidate signs lining Bruin Walk have been
taken down, the elections are not yet over.
Voting for runoff elections for the undergraduate student
government will begin tonight as two top executive offices remain
unfilled.
For those familiar with the inner workings of student politics,
the picture didn’t quite fit. It looked as if the two leaders
had swapped shirts.

A candidate running for the academic affairs commissioner
position with the Student Power! slate dropped out of the race for
the Undergraduate Students Association Council.
Eric Barba submitted his paperwork for withdrawal to the
elections board on Tuesday, said Nathan Lam, elections board
chairman.
It has almost become a tradition. Year after year, as the
elections for the undergraduate student government near, a new
group of students surfaces with plans to take control of the
council away from the Students First!
