Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry

First time documentary filmmaker Alison Klayman explores and examines the life and art of prolific Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei in the Sundance Special Jury Prize-winning film, “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry.” The film chronicles Ai Weiwei’s art and political activism, from helping construct the Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics to his 81-day detainment by Chinese officials in 2011.
On Saturday, the group will host its 35th annual Samahang Pilipino Cultural Night, an event where members of Samahang Pilipino will perform dancing suites along with a scripted show that focuses on social and economic issues that affect the Filipino community.
As a child Daniela Girbal always heard stories about her great-grandparents’ survival during the Armenian genocide of 1915, something that has sparked her appreciation for her Armenian heritage.
While many may think that a live performance by Bon Iver would be the equivalent to listening to a bedtime lullaby, it was pleasantly surprising to witness how intense and absorbing the band’s performance was.
