SEATTLE “”mdash; It was the culmination of a weekend-long party for the purple-clad masses gathered inside Edmundson Pavilion on Saturday night. For the hometown crowd, the final result of this basketball game would only be a fitting end to their team’s farewell celebration, a decked-out gala featured for prime-time national television.

The sparkling LED scoreboard gracing the Spieker Aquatics Center was far from the only bright spot Saturday night, as the No. 2 UCLA men’s water polo team opened Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with a 10-4 victory over UC Irvine.

UCLA’s 19-15 victory against Tennessee Saturday, Sept. 12 at Neyland Stadium. A Tennessee defensive back sacked redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Prince, fracturing his jaw. Prince was expected to be out for 3-4 weeks.

The 2009 annual Los Angeles Tennis Open, formerly known as the Countrywide Classic and Mercedes-Benz Cup, at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the UCLA campus. LATC housed matches with players such as Pete Sampras July 27 – Aug. 2.
