Several students running for positions on the North Westwood Neighborhood Council said they plan to prioritize affordable housing in Westwood if elected.
The NWWNC is one of the current 99 neighborhood councils in the city of Los Angeles that represent all adults who work, live, own property or have local ties to Westwood at the Los Angeles City Council.
The North Westwood Neighborhood Council’s first entirely mail-in election in May may result in higher voter turnout but has also created candidate registration issues.
The NWWNC represents UCLA and Westwood in the Los Angeles City Council.
The North Westwood Neighborhood Council is the official neighborhood council representing Westwood Village and UCLA to the Los Angeles City Council. Council meetings are open to the public and are currently being held virtually via Zoom.
