I’m not against the idea that young people have to give a
lot of their work away for free. Even before college, volunteer
work seems like a prerequisite to give off the impression of the
well-rounded student for college admissions.
Freddrick Mark Brito, who recently held a position raising funds
for the David Geffen School of Medicine, has had a history of
working under aliases to hide his criminal history and was arrested
after holding his position at UCLA for several months.
The recent hiring of Bob Williams as the executive director for
the Associated Students UCLA signals a shift in management from
directors hired outside of the association to a director who has
had a long history with ASUCLA.
The Associated Students UCLA’s budget for the next fiscal
year was approved at Friday’s board of directors meeting,
reflecting a continual decline in sales, as well as an anticipated
increase in the students living in the residence halls.
Bob Williams has worked a long time at UCLA, starting out as an
undergraduate employee in the residence halls almost 30 years ago.
Now he is the head of Associated Students UCLA, an organization
that deals in almost $70 million in sales annually.
