Facing stiff competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s National Men’s Team Indoor Championship, No. 4 UCLA fell to the defending and eventual champion No. 5 Virginia in a hard fought quarterfinal match, losing 3-4.
Not content to rest on its laurels, the No. 4 UCLA men’s tennis team will continue to work on improving, despite its 4-0 start.
The Bruins have been on a roll lately, having crushed both of their opponents, the University of South Alabama and Fresno State University, over the weekend.
One minute the outcome of the match was uncertain. The next minute, victory was assured. In a span of mere seconds, the UCLA men’s tennis team managed to secure a team victory by a score of 6-1 over the Boise State Broncos at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on Tuesday.
While some individuals may take this upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. weekend to travel, visit friends or relax at home, the UCLA men’s tennis team will be hard at work at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Thousand Oaks.

Some people may scoff at the idea of classifying throwing a Frisbee around as a sport, but Bruin Ladies Ultimate, the UCLA women’s Ultimate Frisbee club team, hopes to change any notions of this illegitimacy.
Looking to build on the success from its sweep of the Washington State Cougars over the weekend, UCLA will go on the road and take on No. 8 Cal State Fullerton today in the Bruins’ final nonconference game of the season.
