been more rewarding for him because he has had to work hard to stay
with it.

UCLA’s Music of Brazil ensemble is finally official.
Throughout last year, the ensemble had met weekly under the
direction of Latin American Studies M.A. graduate student Beto
Gonzalez to practice Brazilian music as an informal group.

Asking a musician whether he prefers teaching or performing is
like asking a first year student his major. It’s one of those

Does a Chicano band only compose Chicano music with Chicano
musicians?
According to Quetzal Flores, the founder of one of Los
Angeles’ most prominent Chicano bands, the answer is no.

three hours at JC Fandango’s in Anaheim earlier this

student and mariachi performer ever felt this way because Escalera
now devotes her life to the art form.

reggae-tinged hip-hop group Yerba Tribe.
