An overflowing crowd of UCLA students greeted leading
Palestinian intellectual and activist, Edward Said, with a standing
ovation at Royce Hall on Thursday night, but response to his talk
afterward has been mixed.

George W. Bush is often heralded as being the “leader of
the free world,” but international students at UCLA are quick
to point out this world extends beyond the United States ““
and have much to say about their opinions of him and whether these
beliefs have changed since their arrival.

Most UCLA students know more about weapons of mass destruction
being developed halfway across the world than those their own
university helps to produce.
The UC manages two labs for the Department of Energy ““ Los
Alamos and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories ““ that
design nuclear weapons.
