After adding Arron Afflalo to my interests on Facebook, it hit me.
Not the obvious fact that I have a schoolgirl crush on him (though that may be true), but that I love UCLA, and specifically what basketball does for this school.
MEN’S WATER POLO All Weekend MPSF Tournament

It’s do or die this weekend for the UCLA men’s water
polo team. After finishing their regular conference season with a
6-2 record, the Bruins head into the final tournament seeded third
in both the conference and the nation.
Underneath the sweltering late-November Los Angeles sunshine,
the UCLA men’s water polo team closed regular-season play
with a 8-5 victory over the UC Irvine Anteaters. The game was
noteworthy for another reason, as it marked the final home game for
the seven Bruin seniors.
The Bruin water polo team split games this weekend in Northern
California, coming home with both a win and a loss.
Saturday marked the second disappointing outcome in the
conference season with a loss to No.
It was one of those games you remember. After reaching a deficit
of three goals in the third quarter, the third-ranked UCLA
men’s water polo team fought its way back to send the match
against top-ranked USC into overtime, culminating in a period of
sudden-death.
Saturday, at noon, the UCLA men’s water polo team will
face off against USC at McDonald’s Swim Stadium.
The Lexus Gauntlet rivalry match against USC (16-0, 3-0 MPSF)
has the potential to be pivotal in both team’s water polo
seasons.
Although the UCLA men’s water polo team finished third at
the SoCal Tournament this weekend and did not accomplish its lofty
goal of capturing the tournament title, the Bruins did prove they
belong with the top teams in the nation.
Despite a solid offensive performance, the UCLA men’s
water polo team fell to the UCSD Tritons in heartbreaking fashion,
13-12, on Friday night. The nearly 2,000 screaming fans in
attendance proved to be too much for the Bruins to handle, as the
defense had one of its poorest showings on the year.
Goofy. Laid-back. Creative.
These are not adjectives you would typically use to describe one
of the best athletes in the nation for a particular sport, but all
are adjectives used to describe Logan Powell by those who know him
best.
