Sickness and altitude may have been contributing factors to UCLA cross country’s average performances at the Pac-12 championships this weekend.
Both the men and women’s team placed seventh at the event, held in Louisville, Colo.
Last Friday the UCLA cross country team hosted its only home meet of the season at the Brookside Golf Course.
The women’s team defeated USC, while the men participated in an unscored event and raced in an 8K against alumni and Cerritos College.
UCLA men’s and women’s cross country teams headed to Sacramento for today’s NCAA Preview, a meet that showcases the top teams in the nation. The Bruins said they feel strong and confident after a successful training season and impressive season openers.
Although the new academic year is just starting, the UCLA swim and dive team has already been back in Westwood for almost four weeks. In addition to having grueling practices twice a day, the month of September has served as a time for the team to get to know each other on a personal level, a factor that senior swimmer Kathryn Murphy says is essential to a successful team.
