In the last few months, UCLA Facebook pages such as “People of UCLA,” “UCLA Streetsnaps & Lifestyle” and “UCLA Snaps” have gained attention and popularity on campus by featuring the stories and images of UCLA students and faculty online.
The old, vacant Chili’s restaurant in Westwood is no longer a space where food is served, but rather where art is shared.
Currently occupied by the Hammer Student Association and other UCLA student organizations and clubs, the building has been transformed into the student-run OPEN FORUM as part of the Hammer Museum’s initiative Arts ReSTORE LA: Westwood.
A new Westwood is coming, and the UCLA Hammer Museum, as well as more than a dozen artisans, is at the forefront.
Last spring, the Hammer Museum entered and won the Arts and Cultural Vitality category for the Goldhirsh Foundation’s My LA2050 challenge, a program committed to revamping Los Angeles.
