In less than a week, UCLA football returns to the Rose Bowl to open its season. Daily Bruin Sports is previewing the year ahead, from what this final season in the Pac-12 could mean for the Bruins’ legacy to the personnel making up each position group.
Every spring, as the school year comes to a close, the Daily Bruin releases its Graduation Issue. This year’s theme focuses on reflection and searching – reflecting on the past year while taking its lessons as we search for what’s next.
Fashion and Student Trends at UCLA is turning sketches into struts. The organization’s annual fashion show, which will be at Pauley Pavilion on May 26, will feature collections designed by 20 students, ranging in theme from Afrofuturism to nighttime musings.
Spring Sing is back in the spotlight. The annual student talent showcase and competition will take place May 19 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The 78th Spring Sing will feature 12 acts ranging a cappella groups, bands, solo musicians, dance teams and interdisciplinary acts who will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges including Jeremy Renner.
The Big Dance has just begun, and both UCLA men’s and women’s basketball punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament with top seeds in tow. The men’s team benefits from veteran leadership and a nearly perfect resume since late January but has endured untimely injuries down the stretch.
