As the indoor season nears its end, the athletes on the UCLA track and field team are split with differing goals.
Five athletes have been accepted for entry at the NCAA indoor championships and are mentally and physically preparing for this competition, while the rest of the team continues its training for outdoor season.
The UCLA track and field team returned from its Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships on Saturday feeling content with
its individual talent.
The meet took place at the Dempsey Indoor Facility on the University of Washington campus, and both the men’s and women’s teams were happy with their personal results in Washington.
Coming out of the last few meets with successful results may
have looked easy for the UCLA track team, but the difficulty will rise as the Bruins compete in the Texas A&M; Aggie Invitational this weekend.
The hurdles on the track are not the only obstacles the UCLA track and field team is trying to overcome.
Although the Bruins may have fallen behind because of the renovation of their new track, after two weeks of practice, they realize they could use some more work – in particular, their speed.
