While most of UCLA was breathing a sigh of relief after finals,
Espresso Roma Café still had one test left to go ““ its
health and safety inspection.

Every year Miss America contestants promise world peace and a
solution to world hunger, but UCLA is actually helping to combat
hunger in its own backyard.

Fifteen new tree trunks have taken root on the corners of
Westwood neighborhood streets.
In an attempt to rid area sidewalks, streets, yards and parkways
of litter, the North Village Improvement Committee placed trash
cans designed as tree trunks on street corners throughout the
community near UCLA.

Burgers, fries and Coke may become a thing of the past as
Westwood Village tries to shed its image as a haven for fast food
restaurants.

Upon returning to the residence halls this past weekend,
students breathed a sigh of relief to learn that three suspects in
an alleged sexual assault in De Neve Plaza were arrested Dec.

A sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the Fir Grove
building of the De Neve on-campus housing complex has left students
stunned and shaken, as many wonder if they are safe even in their
own private space.

Forget Christmas cards and Hanukah presents. Halloween candy and
Thanksgiving care packages should arrive just in time for the
holiday season if you live on campus.

UCLA’s neighbors were not humming to the tune of Mr.
Rogers’ “Won’t you be my neighbor?” when
they met to discuss the environmental impacts of UCLA’s
seemingly never-ending construction.

“Would you like fries with that?” may become
Westwood’s new motto if certain legislation isn’t
overturned.
Nearly every restaurant, fast food establishment and
homeowners’ association in Westwood has joined forces to
appeal new legislation that would allow an influx of fast food
restaurants into the Village.
