I have never done anything more depressing than look for work.
There is nothing in this world I will enjoy more than waking up
early to do 40 hours of work a week within the same building, let
alone having someone tell me what to do, when to leave and what to
wear.
Most players in Division I baseball have spent their whole lives
winning. Thus, the Bruins’ season, in which UCLA’s
record is currently 9-28, has been quite an adjustment for
everyone, from the starters down to the bench-warmers.
The UCLA baseball team’s 18-game losing streak has been
noteworthy for some time now, and every additional loss heaps more
attention on the situation. The Bruins (7-22, 0-6 Pac-10) have thus
gained notoriety of the kind they very much would rather not have
going into their weekend series against UC Santa Barbara.
In other years, UCLA’s 4-2 midweek loss at Loyola
Marymount would be unremarkable, and at most annoying.
Every loss such as this one, however, now adds another dimension
to the UCLA baseball team’s school-record losing streak that,
at 18 games, has become quite remarkable.
