SAN JOSE–For UCLA, it’s a last-ditch effort to bring back some
life into a season that has been a huge disappointment. For Fresno
State, it’s a rare opportunity to knock off its California
neighbor.
College students are often familiar with how to find and
maneuver the well-traveled road to success. Honors and AP courses,
plus extracurricular activities and high SAT scores, equal entrance
into an accredited university, which then often equals a
well-paying job and happiness.
To say that the medium is the message regarding Stephanie
Strickland’s poetry would only be scratching the surface.
A 30-year-old veteran poet and currently a professor at Sarah
Lawrence College, Strickland’s work consists of collaborative
poetic efforts that cut across paper and digital media, ultimately
connecting an understanding of their meaning to their presentation.
With fourth week already here and fifth week just around the
corner, many UCLA students are already feeling the stress of
midterm examinations. Imagine, however, if that pressure was not to
perform well on an exam, but to single-handedly direct an
outstanding performance on stage.
