It was a close three-way fight to the finish between USC, Arizona State and UCLA, but a slow third round ultimately landed the UCLA women’s golf team third place at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Despite the gloom that hung thickly over Stanford University Golf Course, the UCLA women’s golf team shone brilliantly on the greens, putting into first place after narrowly inching a lead from No. 1 Alabama.

The sprawling green flats of the Stanford University Golf Course will be the backdrop of the inaugural Pac-10/Southeastern Conference Challenge for women’s golf.
