UCPD recorded 576 unique entries in its April 1 to April 30 daily crime log.

University police received 123 crime reports from April 1 to April 30 that resulted in active police cases. Of the 123 crime reports resulting in cases, 50 were open cases and 73 were closed or inactive as of May 13, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.

Theft and burglary was the most common category, with 48 reports resulting in cases, followed by 18 reports involving drugs or controlled substances, according to the log.

UCPD also recorded 453 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of May 13:

Detail handled, no report: 85

Report taken: 43

Information only: 40

Non-criminal matter: 113

Warned or advised: 22

Canceled (by any party): 48

Victim not desirous of report: 27

Referred to outside agency: 37

Unable to locate: 34

Field interviewed: 6

Courtesy report: 2

Citation issued: 1

Unfounded: 1

Of the 453 incidents not resulting in cases, eight were categorized as sex crimes. UCPD categorized four as rape reports and four as sexual battery reports.

Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
