Patricia Godefroy said Wednesday that as the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s associate dean for marketing and communications, she was concerned that Klein’s email “could be construed as racist.” Klein’s lawyers presented internal communications in which Godefroy asked another School of Management administrator if they believed Bernardo’s email publicly announcing Klein’s leave would satisfy students.

Godefroy said during testimony that the intent of the email was not to satisfy students but to be transparent and reaffirm the School of Management’s values.
