Antonio Bernardo testified Thursday. He said he forwarded an email that included Klein’s response to Brett Trueman and Heather Caruso, who were equity, diversity and inclusion leaders for the UCLA Anderson School of Management at the time.

“I’m not sure of the next steps with Gordon, but we must respond strongly,” he wrote in the email.

Though he said he did not know when forwarding the email that Klein could be suspended, he said he thought to take action because he believed Klein’s email had contradicted the values of the school.
