In a Tuesday press conference at the opening of the center, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass thanked UCLA and Chancellor Julio Frenk for their work in opening the Disaster Recovery Center at UCLA’s Research Park.

“This is a wonderful facility where people can come,” she said. “And this facility is obviously for the people from everywhere but especially the Palisades and Hurst fire.”
