Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued an executive order convening a debris removal task force, expediting building permit processes and opening temporary housing, according to a 10:33 p.m. press release from the mayor’s office. Discretionary city processes will be waived and coastal development permits will not be required for those rebuilding similar structures to those destroyed by the fires, according to the press release.

Permits will not be required for demolishing wildfire-impacted property, according to the release.
