The Bruin Flea – a monthly market hosted on campus – has canceled an event they had been planning to host for Jan. 17, according to the organization’s Instagram.
“Our home & community has faced devastation these past few days and there are no words to describe the loss that our loved ones, friends and fellow neighbors are experienced,” they said in the statement.
Classes will be held remotely until at least Jan. 17, UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk said in a Saturday campus-wide email. As of 11:05 p.m. Sunday, the Palisades fire – which is nearest to UCLA – is 23,713 acres in size.
However, there are no evacuation warnings or orders for the UCLA campus as of 11:05 p.m. Sunday.
