The erroneous alert received by some UCLA students was directed at the Kenneth Fire in West Hills, which is more than 14 miles away from the UCLA campus, according to a post from the UCLA Police Department on the social media platform X.

The warning was issued by Ready LA County, a service that is not affiliated with UCLA or UCPD, according to the post.
