At 3:24 p.m. Jan. 6, the National Weather Service issued a critical fire weather alert for LA and Ventura Counties due to strong offshore winds and dry conditions. A Particularly Dangerous Situation warning was also issued for potentially destructive conditions for parts of Beverly Hills, including areas near UCLA. The conditions are expected to last until 6 p.m. Jan. 8, according to the NWS.
