President-elect Donald Trump alleged in a Truth social post that Gov. Gavin Newsom is at fault for wildfires across Los Angeles. In the post, he blamed a Newsom-backed policy that seeks to protect endangered fish by limiting how much water can be pumped out of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Trump has previously threatened to withhold emergency wildfire aid from California during his second term if the policy is not revoked.
