UCLA Office of Emergency Management issued an email to faculty and students at 3:04 p.m. alerting the community that the city of Los Angeles has issued an alert about a “destructive, widespread and potentially life-threatening windstorm.” The Office of Emergency Management and UCLA Fire are in communications with municipal partners and have operational teams on standby if anything requires immediate attention on campus. There is no current risk to the Westwood campus and no plan to pivot to remote instruction, work or campus events at the time.
