Nile, a member of the California Nurses Association who did not share his last name, said many nurses support the AFSCME Local 3299 patient care workers. He added that the UC’s allocation of finances does not prioritize its workers.

“You (the patient care workers) are essential members of our healthcare team,” Nile said. “Meanwhile, they spend billions of dollars buying at least six hospitals in the last two years.”
