Union members gathered on the steps at the intersection of Westwood Boulevard and Le Conte Avenue to hear speeches from the leaders of both the local and national AFSCME chapters. Speakers at the rally spoke about the high cost of living in Los Angeles and called on the University to implement better working conditions. Leaders from United Farm Workers and Education Workers United also picketed and listened to the speeches in solidarity.
