Frenk reinvented Mexico’s health system, secured one of Harvard University’s largest-ever donations and kept the University of Miami open through the COVID-19 pandemic.
UCLA announced that Michael Levine will become the interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.
In an email to students Friday, Chancellor Gene Block announced that Levine – the current vice chancellor for academic affairs and personnel – had been appointed to the role.
Chancellor-designate Julio Frenk said he would prioritize rebuilding trust after recent campus protests during a press conference Wednesday.
“Trust is not received. It’s earned,” he said.
