Students expressed feelings of shock and anxiety following days wracked by threats of violence on campus in the midst of returning to in-person learning.

UCLA announced the creation of a task force to review the university’s emergency response protocols Monday following threats made to campus last week.
The FBI charged Matthew Harris, the former UCLA philosophy researcher taken into custody earlier this week, on Tuesday with making threats across state lines to harm or kidnap.
Harris is scheduled to appear in a Denver court Thursday, according to court documents and a statement from Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokesperson for the Los Angeles field office.

The UCPD and UCLA Behavioral Intervention Team are investigating a former philosophy postdoctoral researcher following his recent threats against students and faculty in the UCLA Department of Philosophy, including mention of a mass shooting.
